Cracking Down on Bicycle Theft in Boulder

A rash of recent bicycle theft in Boulder has been in the news lately. A reported 28 secured bicycles were taken off bike racks and another 13 bike thefts or attempted thefts from garages around town have been reported since May 1. Think of all the other bike thefts that have gone unreported, too! City Lock would like to remind you of the importance of securing your bicycle with reliable hardware -- even when kept in a garage!
Police recommend using heavy duty chain to secure your bike, but who lugs that around in their messenger bag? City Lock recommends a high quality U-Lock, like Kryptonite or Master Lock. These reliable locks are resistant to prying and cutting and are compact enough to stash in your bag or backpack.

City Lock recently joined millions in the social media community, Twitter. One of the fastest growing social networking sites, Twitter enables users to send, read and share 140-character messages, referred to as “Tweets."
City Lock Owner, Jeff Rosen said, "It's a great way for us to better connect with our customers in real time." Rosen intends to use twitter not only for marketing, but also as a tool to raise awareness and engage with the Boulder community on a more personal level.
